Building a China Website for a Global Life Sciences Consulting Firm

How VCLS launched a localised website in China to support their new China office and serve the local HealthTech market.

A Global Consulting Firm Opens in China

VCLS is a global life sciences consulting firm that helps pharma, biotech, and medtech companies navigate regulatory pathways and bring HealthTech products to market. They cover regulatory strategy, clinical trials, market access, and post-approval compliance across the US, Europe, and China.

When VCLS opened a physical office in China, there was a gap on the digital side. The global site at voisinconsulting.com was built for Western audiences. It couldn’t load reliably from the mainland, the content wasn’t adapted for Chinese life sciences professionals, and there was no local hosting. For a consulting firm in this space, a weak or inaccessible website isn’t a minor issue. It’s the first thing a potential client in Shanghai looks at when deciding whether to take a meeting.

More Than Translation: Localising Regulatory Content

We built the China site using voisinconsulting.com as the starting point. Brand identity stayed consistent, but the content went through a localisation process that went well beyond translation.

VCLS advises on submissions to China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), among other agencies. So the content has to use the right regulatory terminology and address the questions Chinese pharma executives actually ask when evaluating a consulting partner. What experience does this firm have with NMPA submissions? Can they actually help with market access in China, or is it just a line on their website?

We went through the site section by section. Some pages got rewritten entirely for the Chinese audience. Others just needed more targeted work: updating references, shifting the emphasis around, replacing case examples that didn’t land in the local market.

Hosting and Infrastructure

We set up hosting on servers inside mainland China. The site lives at voisinconsulting.cn, its own dedicated domain, separate from the global .com but visually aligned with it. After launch we put a maintenance and support arrangement in place for content updates, technical issues, and ongoing hosting.

Scope of work: China website build from global Drupal site, content localisation and update, China hosting, maintenance and support.

The Outcome: A China-Ready Digital Presence

VCLS now has a dedicated China website that gives their China office a real digital presence in the local market. Chinese life sciences professionals visiting voisinconsulting.cn get content that speaks their language, references their regulatory environment, and loads fast. The site reflects the same depth as the global brand while being built for the Chinese HealthTech consulting market specifically.

For a firm that had just opened a China office and needed to build local credibility quickly, the website was one of the first things that had to work.
